The State House has trashed the letter which has been viral on social media, signed by Sandra Ndyomugyenyi on behalf of the Principal Private Secretary to the President concerning non-payment of services rendered by cyber security experts who were hired to hack into top opposition social media accounts during the 2021 elections.
The letter summoning the chief executive officer for Atrox Security Company, Sulaiman Kabangala Mbuga alias SK Mbuga to appear before the state house legal department on 25th October 2022 to discuss allegations of not paying the hacking team, yet the money in question was already paid by the State House comptroller.
In the same letter, the state house was freezing any further payments to Mbuga’s company until the matter had been resolved.
However, the State House has explained in a letter dated 28th Oct. that the letter was authored by a junior staff who made an error of judgment without the knowledge of her seniors or establishing the true facts of the said allegations.
“The Junior staff made an error of judgment in writing the letter without consulting her supervisor or establishing the true facts of the said allegation”. Said State House.
State House cautioned the general public to always be mindful of letters supposedly written on behalf of Senior Members of the State House when in doubt, and to always report to the State House Anti-Corruption Unit (SHACU).
