Couple of weeks after being released from jail, Kawempe north legislator Hon Muhammad Ssegirinya initially best known as Mr update has taken to battling for internet leadership with Isma Olaxees. It should be recalled that before his incarceration, Ssegirinya was one of the most active bloggers. He did this under his Mr Updates Facebook page. However, on being released, he found that the status quo changed. He was dethroned and replaced by Isma Olaxees as the president of Uganda social media bloggers.
Ssegirinya said that this is impossible. He wondered why of all people bloggers chose Isma. This is because he’s too old and referred to him as ‘Mzee Zede.’
Apparently, Ssegirinya wants the elections re-done and him elected because he can’t accept to be under Ichuli. Meanwhile Isma on the other hand said that the MP should be careful. This is because he destroyed and rebuilt everything Ssegirinya left behind. Besides the only nearest vacant position available is queen. So, if Ssegirinya is willing to take it, it’s avaliable to him.
Furthermore, Isma said that Muhammad Ssegirinya has to know a lot of things such as YouTube top bloggers. He also has to learn about a new app called TikTok and how they subscribe to it. For TikTok, Ssegirinya admitted that he knows nothing about it but will be joining it soon. Jajja Ichuli also advised Ssegirinya to read the new laws of social media that were put in place.
Furthermore, he said that since he has replaced Ssegirinya on social media, the people of Kawempe north should do the needful. This is because now Ssegirinya is going to fly abroad for treatment. This will at least take a year and half plus the two years he’s been in jail. A whole term of absence will be all Ssegirinya will have served his people.
