KAMPALA: Hajjat Hanifah Karadi, renowned community mobilizer and Commander of the Nkuyege Think Tank, marked her birthday on Thursday not with a lavish party, but with a large-scale service outreach in Kawempe, reinforcing her role as a grassroots mobilization leader and advocate for government development programs.
The celebrations were held at Kawempe Home Based CareGivers Alliance. Through her Hanifah Karadi Mothering Community Foundation, dozens of vulnerable families received clothes, household items, and other essential support. Karadi spent the day sharing meals, distributing relief items, and interacting directly with beneficiaries and children, personally serving cake to attendees — a gesture witnesses described as symbolic of servant leadership.
The event drew praise from community members and local leaders. Among those in attendance were NRM Chairman Kyebando Kisalosalo Emma Turinawe Emmanuel, popularly known as Commander 001, and Kawempe North Woman LC5 Councilor Nalongo Namara Annet, who joined beneficiaries in the celebrations.
Speaking at the event, attendees commended Karadi for consistently prioritizing women, children, the elderly, and low-income families. Over the years, she has built a reputation as a grassroots leader and advocate for community empowerment. Through charity initiatives and social outreach programs, she has supported vulnerable households, promoted youth engagement, and championed causes aimed at improving livelihoods within Kampala and beyond.
As Commander of the Nkuyege Think Tank, Karadi has been actively involved in mobilization efforts that encourage patriotism, community participation, and support for government development programs. Her foundation has spearheaded several humanitarian activities, including food distribution drives, support for disadvantaged mothers, and assistance to vulnerable community groups.
Beneficiaries expressed gratitude, saying the donated items would help ease challenges amid rising living costs. The event was characterized by humility and a spirit of service. Community leaders used the occasion to call on more leaders and well-wishers to emulate such acts of generosity and social responsibility.
As prayers and birthday wishes poured in, many hailed Karadi’s decision to celebrate by giving back as a powerful reminder that leadership is best demonstrated through service to others. “Today was not about celebrations alone; it was about touching lives and restoring hope,” one attendee remarked.
The event concluded with prayers for Hajjat Hanifah Karadi’s continued good health, prosperity, and success in her community service efforts.
