GULU/ACHOLILAND: The launch of PDM disbursement held on Wednesday 16th August 2023 at Awach central primary school in Awach sub county,Gulu district has excited several residents who lauded president Museveni on the program.
The function was officiated by the Resident District Commissioner {RDC} Charles Ichogor who was a Chief Guest at the ceremony.
A section of beneficiaries from Pugwinyi SACCO, Pokogali SACCO, Oguru SACCO among others really commended His Excellency General Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on the strategic guidance and well thoughts plus an intervention targeting poverty-stricken households, in the country of the 39 percent.
Agness Abalo32 year-old said as a beneficiary of PDM, they are ready to follow all the guidance given to them.

Beatrice Adyero, 30-year-old and, one of the beneficiaries expressed her happiness and promise to fight poverty through the intended enterprise.
However, the Chief Administrative Officer {CAO} Gulu Mr. Ismael Ocengel regretted the delay attributing it to laziness of some of his technical teams and pledged punitive measures.
RDC Charles Ichogor appealed to local leaders in the district of Gulu to closely monitor the Parish Development Project {PDM} to ensure it reaches the target beneficiaries
Charles pledged to shift his office in the villages to enable him to effectively monitor the PDM project alongside other government programs.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Resident District Commissioner of Gulu District Okidi James Cosmas has appealed to PDM beneficiaries to carefully use the money for the exact purpose.
‘’Let avoid diversion and we should use the money for its purposes. ” I want to appeal to technical staff to work as a team, remembering teamwork is the only way to achieve this program. Please encourage consultations amongst ourselves, this will greatly impact on the projects”, DRDC Cosmas James Okidi remarked.
Gulu district disbursed a total of shs.326,925,850/- to different SACCO accounts out of the total parish revolving funds (PRF) of shs 5,026,925,850/- which is being uploaded on PDMIS. The PDM strategy is a Presidential initiative sold all over the country by His Excellency YKM during the campaign trial, where he promised to uplift Ugandans out of poverty. The Gulu Launch on Wednesday 16th August 2023 was attended by dignitaries including the two Members of Parliament, Hon Simon Wokorach Peter and the woman MP Balmoi Sharon, commander OWC Acholi sub-Region, Representative of PDM secretariat Mr. Otim, LCV Chairperson Gulu Opio Ateker, Secretary production, CAO & technical staff.
Others are staff from Centenary Bank, district Councilor, LC III Chairperson, LC1s,LC2s and beneficiaries from various sub counties. DRDC Cosmas.
