Mpasaana, Kakumiro: In a show of support for the church and the community, Bugangaizi East Member of Parliament, Hon. Agaba Aisa Black, contributed Shs 2 million towards the purchase of land for Mpasaana Town Church Parish. The contribution was made during a highly attended fundraising event, where Hon. Agaba Aisa also donated an additional Shs 200,000 worth of commodities to support the fundraising drive.

During the event, Hon. Agaba Aisa commended the church for its role in transforming the faithful and guiding the community. She also took the opportunity to highlight her achievements in Mpasaana and the broader constituency. “In my short time in Parliament, I’ve been able to lobby and deliver Mpasaana Seed Secondary School, which is well-stocked with books, spacious classrooms, teachers’ quarters, ICT, and science laboratories,” she said.

Hon. Agaba Aisa noted that one of her notable achievements is the successful fight against land grabbing in the constituency. “We’ve secured land titles for areas like Butenja, Kyananjubu, Galiraya, Nakasagazi, Lwembuzi, Butiita, Lwamata, Lutooma, and Lubumbo, among others,” she said.

On water supply, Hon. Agaba Aisa reported significant progress, thanks to her lobbying efforts. “We’ve reduced the water issue in our constituency by working with organizations like the World Bank and National Water and Sewerage Cooperation,” she said. “All town councils now have water supply, including Katikara, Mwitanzigye, Kisiita, Mpasaana, and Nkooko.” She also mentioned her initiative to provide piped water to Munsaana, Nkooko Sub County, Kibijjo Trading Centre, and Kabuubwa.

Currently, water coverage in Bugangaizi East stands at 80%, the highest in Kakumiro District. “In Mpasaana, we’re initiating a water project by National Water and Sewerage Cooperation that will supply both Mpasaana and Nkooko,” Hon. Agaba Aisa added.

In healthcare, Hon. Agaba Aisa highlighted the fully-fledged ambulance stationed at Kisiita HCIII, which has improved referrals to Hoima Regional Referral Hospital. “There’s ongoing construction of a theatre for operations, which will come with a double cabin car to transport patients, cutting costs and reducing referrals,”she said. “I also added a bed per health center, and two in both Kisiita and Nkooko HCIIIs.”

On the issue of power supply, Hon. Agaba Aisa mentioned that the constituency has been surveyed and mapped and will be receiving power supply in three phases, with the first phase currently ongoing.

Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja, the Prime Minister, praised Hon. Agaba Aisa for her unquantifiable efforts towards lobbying and working for her constituents. She expressed her disappointment with individuals who wished Hon. Agaba Aisa harm during her recent illness and pledged to always support her, citing her strength in lobbying and advocacy.
