Kampala, Uganda: On 11th Nov 2022, Victoria University nominated five guild aspirants to contest for the highest students’ office at the university through the students’ electoral commission.

On 12, Jan, 2023, elections commenced and ended on 13th Jan 2023.
Carter Jorine Caryn contested with other four as shown below;
Mr. Serebe Eugan garnered 138 votes totaling to 7.2%
Mr. Rwothomio Denis garnered 150 votes totaling to 7.8%
Mr. Etomet Gilbert garnered 194 votes totaling to 10.0%
Mr. Nakibinge Samuel garnered 528 votes totaling to 27% and
Ms. Carter Jorine Karyn garnered 914 votes totaling to 47.5%
In a two-day online electoral process that was carried out with a hi-tech university online system, the VClass, 1924 students voted for their favorite candidates through the student’s election portal with a live election count.
Today, Ms. Carter Jorine Karyn has been declared the overall winner of the heated student’s guild elections for the year 2023/2024 as the guild president elect of Victoria University with 914 votes accounting for 475% of the total votes cast.
Officiating the declaration ceremony, Prof. Augustine Osamor Ifelebuegu, the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Victoria University implored the incoming guild president to work hand in hand with fellows as they were in the race to realize expectations of students.
“As a university we congratulate all the candidates who participated in the race and the whole student’s body for exercising the right of vote”. He added.

Speaking to press after his declaration, Carter Jorine Karyn-the newly elected guild president stressed that academic issues are a priority during his tenure as it is the core of them being in the university premises.
She also committed to work smoothly with all she contested with believing that they are also good leader only that God chose her for this term.
It should be remembered that this is the second time when Victoria University is conducting Guild elections online as one of the products of technological advancement at the university.
