Kampala, Uganda: Kyanja-based Success FM Radio workers have laid down tools over months of unpaid salaries.
The Radio is owned by Bishop Elijah Sebuchu who is also a proprietor of Kampala International Christian Centre (KICC) in Kyanja, Nakawa, an organization with over 58 churches spread across the country.
According to an undisclosed source from Success 104.9 FM, they have gone over 6 months with no single coin in the pocket but expected to report to work on a daily basis.
The source has gone on to inform this website that both in-house staff and reporters are affected by the ongoing situation.
“The Radio is currently playing music only”. The Source revealed.
“In the afternoon times, we decided to lay down our working tools in expression of our discontent due to pending salaries”. The source added.
“Like any other Ugandans, we’re battling with the current high cost of living, if given our salaries, we may maneuver”. The Source informed.
At the time of this publication, the management had not yet responded to this event.
