The Chairperson Uganda Human Rights Commission (UHRC), Miriam Wangadya, has revealed that Uganda was blocked from physically attending human rights meetings in Geneva, following the closure of the United Nations Human Rights Office in Kampala. Peter Olupot appeared before grade one magistrate Alison Nasasira on Tuesday afternoon and the charge was read to him. Under the Digital Markets Act, a new EU regulation, WhatsApp is required to make basic functionalities of its messaging service interoperable with other third party providers of messaging services on request.
