While addressing at the 13th Higher Education Institutions Exhibitions, Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa the Deputy Speaker of Parliament said sought that Higher Education Research Fund be extended also to private institutions of learning in order to broaden research. Uganda’s Ministry of Health yesterday officially confirmed an outbreak of Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) in Mubende District, Uganda. According to the Ministry, the confirmed case was a 24 year old male a resident Ngabano village of Madudu Sub County in Mubende District presented with EVD symptoms and later succumbed to death. Ministry continues to indicate that the clinical team took off samples for testing at UVRI and the results confirmed that the patient was positive for the Ebola-Sudan strain.
