BUGISU: Kakira Sugar, Uganda’s leading sugar producer has joined efforts with the Uganda Red Cross Society (URCS) to combat the adverse impacts of floods in the Bugisu sub-region. In a concerted effort to conserve the environment, the two organizations have resumed their tree planting activities, aiming to plant over 50,000 grevillea trees over a 5 year period, starting with 10,000 trees this year. Popular Ugandan comedian and former Member of Parliament Kato Lubwama was pronounced dead in the wee hours of Wednesday (7th June 2023) morning.
