Kampala, Uganda: Tuesday, the Chairperson Uganda Human Rights Commission (UHRC), Hon. Mariam Wangadya hosted her Counterpart, the Chairperson Judicial Service Commission, Hon. Justice Dr. Douglas Karekona Singiza, and Members of his commission; Hon. Jimmy Okello and Hon. Frank Musingwire.
Also in the meeting was Commissioner Hon. Crispin Kaheru, Ms. Pauline Nansamba Mutumba, Director Complaints, Investigations & Legal Services, and other UHRC staff.
The two Chairpersons of Commissions discussed strengthening collaboration for the promotion and protection of human rights.
The two commissions collaborate to strengthen the administration of justice, promote human rights, and enhance access to justice for all Ugandans, with the UHRC often working closely with the judiciary to ensure that human rights are upheld in the courts and that justice is served.
