Uganda, Sweden Strengthen Ties on Human Rights and Governance

Kampala, Uganda: n a warm and elegant setting, Monday, the Uganda Human Rights Commission (UHRC) Officials led by Chairperson Hon. Mariam wangadya had the honor of attending a reception hosted by the Swedish Ambassador to Uganda, H.E. Maria Håkansson, at her residence.

The occasion brought together a visiting Swedish Parliamentarian Delegation and key stakeholders in Uganda’s human rights and governance sector.

UHRC Chairperson and Commissioner Crispin Kaheru were among the distinguished guests who mingled with the delegates, sharing insights and experiences on promoting good governance and civic education.

The Commission expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Embassy of Sweden for its continued partnership and support, which has significantly advanced human rights initiatives in Uganda.

This meaningful engagement signifies the strong bond between Uganda and Sweden in fostering a culture of human rights and democratic values. The evening was a realization to the power of collaboration and diplomacy in driving positive change.
