UPC’s Ogwal Endorses and Pledges Support for Museveni’s Re-Election Bid

LANGO: Kwania District Chairperson and Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) stalwart, Alex Ogwal, has thrown his weight behind President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s re-election bid. Speaking at a campaign rally in Kwania, Ogwal welcomed President Museveni and praised the central government team for their service in the district. “Kwania is calm, Your Excellency. I thank you for all the service that you have given us as the people of Kwania, and because of the good service that you have done for the country and for the people of Kwania specifically, I offer my support for you this time,” Ogwal said.

Ogwal pledged to mobilize support for Museveni and the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party in Kwania and across the Lango sub-region, emphasizing the importance of elders guiding and organizing society. He requested that the President prioritize key infrastructure projects, particularly road works around the swamps bordering Lake Kwania, saying, “We are facing a huge challenge of road. Some of the swamps we cannot manage as a district. Kindly help us in that.”

Additionally, Ogwal appealed to President Museveni to officially commission the administration block whose foundation stone was laid in the President’s name. “Now that I’ve offered myself to support you fully, kindly help me in your next term… At any of your free time, you go and officially lay the foundation stone, although retrospectively,” he said. Ogwal concluded by reaffirming his “full support” for President Museveni in the ongoing campaigns.
