The Uganda Human Rights Commission (UHRC) has successfully expanded its reach in fostering civic and human rights education among young Ugandans with the recent establishment of Human Rights and Peace Clubs (HRPCs) in secondary schools across the country.

The Gulu and Jinja regional offices have been instrumental in this initiative, spearheading the launch of these vital student groups within their respective jurisdictions.
In the Jinja region, led by Regional Head Mr. Farouk Nyende, two new HRPCs were inaugurated. Balawuli Secondary School and Busoga High School, both located in Kamuli district, now have active clubs dedicated to promoting human rights awareness.
Simultaneously, the Gulu Regional Office celebrated the establishment of an HRPC at Biyaya Secondary School in Adjumani district. These clubs are designed to serve as platforms for students to learn about their fundamental rights and responsibilities, encouraging a culture of peace and respect within school communities and beyond.
