Fort Portal: Yesterday the country went into a shock after receiving news of UPDF gunship helicopter crash in Fort Portal.
Everyone thought that the incident could have claimed or injured lives of both occupants of it and on the ground.
It is said that the helicopter crashed into a mud and a house of an old woman in the morning of yesterday after just like 500m of take off according to officials from the UPDF.
Locals around the scene reported that they witnessed UPDF soldiers struggling to get out of the helicopter however UPDF Mountain division spokesperson, Maj Peter Mugisa said that they had to let people and journalists stop closing in to the scene for some security reasons. He added that none was injured.
He informed that even though none of the occupants and people from the ground sustained injuries, the helicopter itself got some damages, the house and part of the banana plantation.
He allayed fears of the owner of the house by mentioning that they contacted the construction team to come and repair the damaged house and UPDF technical team from Entebbe to investigate the crash incident.
