Desire Muhooza’s Flag Bearer Victory Sets Stage for Potential  Kiboga NRM WMP Seat Reclaim

By Julius Mugaga Tukacungurwa/ Umoja Standard.

Kiboga, Uganda: Hon. Desire Muhooza, daughter of Rtd. Gen Salim Saleh, has secured a resounding victory as the NRM flag bearer for Kiboga Woman MP slot, polling 16,744 votes (42.18%) out of 39,680 total votes. This win positions Muhooza, a talented community organizer, to potentially reclaim the seat from NUP’s Christine Kaaya Nakimwero, who won in 2021 amid NRM divisions.

Nakimwero faces hostility in the NRM stronghold of Kiboga, where she seldom appears, and NUP internal divisions further complicate her re-election bid. Muhooza’s victory margin and community support may prove crucial in the upcoming general election.
