Kampala, Uganda: In a heartwarming gesture, Honourable Nambi Faridah, the NRM flag bearer for Kawempe North constituency, has offered a bursary to Nagirinya Sharifah, the daughter of late Muhammad Ssegirinya, to support her education up to primary seven through the Nambi Children Initiatives.

Nambi Faridah described the moment as “momentous,” thanking God for enabling her to provide yet another bursary, adding to the many she has offered over the last 25 years. She revealed that she usually keeps such charitable acts private but was advised by her manager to make this one public, given the current voting season.

Nambi Faridah shared that she met the late Ssegirinya in 2020 at Mpererwe Masjid, where they were both campaigning for votes. She also knew his widow as one of her supporters in Bwaise and visited her after Ssegirinya’s passing, providing her with support and verifying the number of children she had and their educational status.

Through the Nambi Children Initiatives, which she founded, Nambi Faridah has been supporting orphaned children, particularly total orphans who have lost both parents, since 2002. She emphasized that her organization’s mission is to provide educational support to these vulnerable children, and she appealed to the public to join her in supporting Ssegirinya’s children and other orphans.

Nambi Faridah’s kind gesture has shone a spotlight on the plight of orphaned children in Uganda and the importance of corporate social responsibility. As she vies for the Kawempe North parliamentary seat, her commitment to supporting vulnerable children has sent a strong message about her values and leadership style.

In related news, Nambi Faridah was recently endorsed by the NRM as its flag bearer for the Kawempe North by-election, which is scheduled to take place on March 13, 2025. The seat fell vacant following the passing of Muhammad Ssegirinya, and several candidates from various political parties are vying for the position.

As the campaign season heats up, Nambi Faridah’s focus on supporting orphaned children and her commitment to education have resonated with voters. Her message of hope and transformation has inspired many, and her candidacy is widely seen as a symbol of the NRM’s efforts to promote social welfare and community development.
