PARLIAMENT: Uganda’s State minister for Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Persis Princess Namuganza sparked shock to fellow legislators yesterday when she appeared for Parliamentary sitting after the same house had censured her last month.
It is said that she moved smartly to VIP ministers’ seats and many fellows were seen whispering at the incident others disappointed.
It should be remembered that with Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa chairing Parliament of Uganda, last month, Hon. Namuganza was voted out as Minister through Rule 109 of the rules of procedure that govern Parliament.
This comes a few days whe Hon. Namuganza stressed only President Museveni who woke up one morning and appointed her is the only person who can draw her back from that position but not anyone including fellow legislators.
“Iam still the state minister for lands. I can only just laugh to those that censured me in parliament. Is it them who appointed me? It’s only President Museveni who can fire me.” said Namuganza.
