Kampala, Uganda: Uganda’s Parliament had been tasked to constitute a ‘select committee’ to commence a process of censuring Hon. Persis Namuganza-the state minister for Housing by news coming in indicate that the censure motion has been cleared off among the issues to be discoursed on.
This development could have been influenced by executive which may not be in support of censuring Minister Namugaza.
Minister Namuganza is accused of undermining the due dignity of Parliament/House using social media and other channels after the Naguru –Nakawa Land Adhoc Committee report implicated her in illegal land allocation to an investor.
It should be remembered that on December 23, 2022, Agago County North MP, Amos Okot tabled the motion for a resolution of parliament to pass a vote of censure against Housing Minister Namuganza.
Clerk to Parliament’s order paper issued indicate that Parliament would sit on Friday to among other things; constitute a select committee to consider the censure motion of the latter Minister.
