Kampala, Uganda: Come 2023 youth activists from Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) under their umbrella body “The Blue Brigade” say are going to start mobilizing all opposition political parties to unity and form coalition which will be used to get best of the best candidates from all opposition political parties to challenge the National Resistance Movement (NRM) candidates at all levels of governence.
While addressing journalists today at speak hotel kampala Robert Mayanja the Bridge Chairman said that words such as transition, unity among others will remain in books and records unless opposition political parties change thier politics strategy and starting preparations early is the best option.
“We have decided to start early to avoid grudges among opposition because always we have been starting preparations when the National electoral commission has released the road map and it has costed us all 30 years of suffering but this time will not happen” Mayanja says
“As Blue Brigade we have come out with the proposal of uniting all opposition political parties under the coalition named “The alternative coalition for Transition” where all opposition parties will unity and front thier best candidates thereafter be internal elections to choose the best from best and all grudges will be sorted early” Mayanja adds
He has disclosed ” late preparations for elections led to collapse of previous coalitions such as TDA,IPC among others so we have decided this time come next year 2023 to start mobilizing opposition political parties to unity if they want to change governence and help suffering Ugandans due to high prices of essential commodities, fuel, high cost of living and others”
He calls upon all opposition political parties to embrace honest unity for joint operations toward the final push of current government.
Meanwhile Mayanja has condermed current Opposit MPs in that have failed to address problems like abudction, abuse of human rights among others but instead blame those such as Hon. Zake Butibe of Mityana Municipality who come out to address it on parliament floor.
