Two boys’ dormitories at Kabale Brain Storm High School gutted fire this afternoon. The school is located in Nyakambu cell Southern Division Kabale Municipality Kabale district.
The incident happened when students were attending lessons in class and others doing exams.
The school head teacher Benard Bikorwomuhangi says he contacted the police which sent the department of the fire brigade to rescue the property. He added that candidates will have to cooperate with others for notes and there will be an address this week. Students told the press that while in the compound they saw the fire in their dormitories and promoted them to first look for water to assist the fire brigade.
The Kigezi Regional Police Spokesperson Elly Maate confirmed that millions of properties have been lost.“The fire started at around 2:14 pm and no one died or injured because they were in class and police rushed to scene in time,” he said. Maate said that they have not yet known the cause but the short circuit is always blamed for such incidents in buildings.“We are investigating in collaboration with the school administration to find out the exact cause of the incident,” he added.
