KYANKWANZI: Working weekend: It’s Day Five of the NRM Leaders’ Retreat at the National Leadership Institute (NALI) in Kyankwanzi, where members have convened for a focused morning session examining the doctrine of separation of powers and practical approaches to managing institutional overlaps across party and government structures.

The deliberations are aimed at strengthening mandate clarity, reducing functional duplication, and enhancing coordination between the executive, legislature, and party organs to improve service delivery and governance efficiency.
In attendance are Vice President Maj (Rtd) Jessica Alupo, members of the Central Executive Committee (CEC), and senior NRM Secretariat officials led by Secretary General Richard Todwong, all following the proceedings with keen interest as facilitators highlight constitutional frameworks, accountability mechanisms, and case-based strategies for harmonizing roles.

The session highlights the NRM’s commitment to ideological coherence, institutional discipline, and effective leadership as the party refines its internal systems to better support Uganda’s broader development agenda.
