Kitebi, Uganda – The National Secretariat for Patriotism Corps, State House, launched a Patriotism Development Course for close to 3,000 students at Kitebi Secondary School today. The team, led by Mr. Job Titus Seku, aims to instill patriotism and discipline in the youth.
Captain Richard Owaruhanga, Assistant Commissioner in Charge of Training, emphasized the importance of embracing the training, stating, “Patriotism education has the power to transform your thinking, mindset, and even future career paths.”
When asked to define patriotism, one student responded, “One’s love for their country and willingness to defend it.” Captain Owaruhanga expanded on this, defining patriotism as “a deep love for one’s country – strong enough to inspire sacrifice, even to the point of giving one’s life.”
The training aims to equip students with the skills and values necessary to become responsible citizens. Captain Owaruhanga urged students to remain attentive and receptive, noting, “Discipline is a cornerstone of success.”
The Patriotism Development Course is part of the secretariat’s efforts to promote national unity and development.
