State House: In a momentous development within the National Resistance Movement (NRM), the party’s Chairperson, Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni held a crucial meeting with candidates vying for the position of NRM Chairperson of the Entrepreneurs League. The meeting, which aimed to foster unity and consensus within the party’s entrepreneurial wing, culminated in the unconditional endorsement of Al Hajj Hassan Basajjabalaba for the position.
Following the endorsement, Al Hajj Hassan Basajjabalaba emerged as an unopposed candidate, marking a new chapter in the Entrepreneurs League’s leadership. In a gracious gesture, Al Hajj Hassan Basajjabalaba extended his gratitude to Rt Hon Thomas Tayebwa, whose efforts were instrumental in bringing the factions together and facilitating a consensus-driven process.
Al Hajj Hassan Basajjabalaba also took a moment to thank the other aspirants for their foresight and commendable decision to support unity over contention. By endorsing a single candidate, the aspirants demonstrated a selfless commitment to the party’s interests over personal ambitions.
