Bugangaizi East, Kakumiro: On Monday, May 19th, 2025, Hon. Agaba Aisa Black, the dedicated Member of Parliament for Bugangaizi East, spearheaded a crucial initiative aimed at alleviating the transportation woes of her constituents. With unwavering commitment and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by the communities within Kyakuterekera, Kyakijuto, and Kyangota, Hon. Aisa officially launched the rehabilitation works on the Kyakuterekera-Kyakijuto-Kyangota Road stretch.
This district road, a vital artery connecting these villages, had deteriorated significantly, causing immense hardship and frustration among residents who had long endured its dilapidated state. This intervention represents not just a road repair project, but a symbol of proactive leadership and a tangible demonstration of Hon. Aisa’s dedication to improving the lives of her people.
For months, the residents of Kyakuterekera, Kyakijuto, and Kyangota had voiced their outrage and despair over the rapidly deteriorating condition of the Kyakuterekera-Kyakijuto-Kyangota Road. Relentless rains had exacerbated existing cracks and potholes, rendering the road a treacherous and often impassable pathway. Transportation of goods became nearly impossible and costly, hindering economic activities and limiting access to essential services.

The cries of the people resonated deeply with Hon. Aisa, who recognized the urgent need for intervention. She understood that the poor state of the road not only hampered economic progress but also impacted the daily lives of her constituents, making it difficult for them to access markets, schools, and healthcare facilities.
Faced with the pressing need to act, Hon. Aisa demonstrated remarkable resourcefulness and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Recognizing the constraints of district resources, she leveraged her personal budget and actively sought support from higher levels of government. Her persistent advocacy led to a successful appeal to the State Minister for Works and Transport, Hon. Fred Byamukama. This collaboration resulted in the acquisition of a tractor, a vital piece of equipment that would be instrumental in commencing the long-awaited rehabilitation works.

Hon. Aisa further elaborated on the collaborative effort that made the rehabilitation project possible. “I pleaded with the Minister of State for Transport, who gave me the tractor that you’re seeing today, and I have commissioned it to commence this stretch up to Kyangota,” she announced, acknowledging the crucial role played by Hon. Byamukama.
The rehabilitation of the Kyakuterekera-Kyakijuto-Kyangota Road is meant to trigger a ripple effect of positive changes within the affected communities. Improved transportation infrastructure will undoubtedly spur economic activities, facilitating the smoother and more efficient movement of goods to local markets. This, in turn, will empower residents to earn higher incomes and improve their overall quality of life. The ease of mobility afforded by the rehabilitated road will also enhance access to essential services such as healthcare and education, fostering social and human development within the Bugangaizi East constituency.
Beyond its immediate impact on the three villages, the Kyakuterekera-Kyakijuto-Kyangota Road serves as a vital link connecting the Sub-counties of Mwitanzigye and Kisiita to the Kisiita-Nalweyo Road. This strategic connection will further enhance connectivity within the region, promoting increased trade and interaction between different communities.
Following the commissioning of the rehabilitation works, Hon. Aisa demonstrated her commitment to engaging with her constituents by spending the entire day in Kyakijuto Parish. She held extensive meetings with local electorates, engaging in open and honest dialogues to exchange ideas for the betterment of Bugangaizi East. This interaction provided a valuable platform for residents to voice their concerns, share their aspirations, and contribute to the development agenda of the constituency.
Furthermore, Hon. Aisa used the opportunity to provide a comprehensive account of her activities in Parliament during her short tenure, fostering transparency and accountability in her leadership. This commitment to open communication and accountability is essential for building trust and ensuring that the voices of the people are heard and represented effectively in the legislative process. These dialogues cement the bond between the MP and her constituents, fostering a sense of shared ownership and responsibility for the future development of Bugangaizi East.
