Kampala, Uganda: The directive came after the Senior Presidential Advisor/Personal Assistant in the ONC Hajjat Hadijah Uzeiye Namyalo informed the President about the discontent of Bazzukulu arising from massive corruption in government and local governments.
She also informed him that the Bazzukulu are angry with the unending bureaucracy in government departments which she said is frustrating the common people in accessing basic government services.
While at Kololo Independence grounds during a luncheon meeting for a team of medical doctors and engineers sponsored by State House, president said that corruption needed to be eliminated in the country for proper service delivery and NRM government has done everything possible to give services but corrupt officials fail it ,so should be named and shamed.
Hajjat Uzeiye Namyalo Hadijah reporting to president
Museveni who officiated at the function responded to chief Muzzukulu Uzeiye saying the bazzukulu should record and report the corrupt District Service Commissioners who extort money from them in exchange for jobs.
Some of those corrupt officials are members of the District Service Commissions which were accused of extorting from poor bazzukulu seeking recruitment at district level.e
The president who’s also the commander in chief, has thus given directives to Bazzukulu to ensure that they use all possible means within their reach to record all those who are involved in corrupt tendencies especially when it comes to awarding jobs at district level.
It should be noted few years back President Yoweri Museveni created a special anti-corruption unit in State House headed by Lt Col Edith Nakalema. This unit, as the President clarified to Ugandans that the unit is meant to reinforce the fight against corruption by supplementing other existing organs of government mandated to do similar responsibilities.
Meanwhile Hajjat Namyalo is these days involved in a campaign against the corrupt and has vowed to push ahead with a campaign to expose them since they tarnish the image of the president and the NRM party.
Uzeiye says such individuals are crippling government efforts to realize the socioeconomic transformation of all Ugandans.
