The National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) has asked Parliament to support their request for sh421.9 billion to facilitate the expansion of water supply to households in the Kampala Metropolitan Area. Cincinnati University surgeons have helped officially launch the state-of-the-art theaters at the Northern Regional Cancer Center in Gulu City. The centre has started conducting delicate surgeries on cancer patients in the region. Five people in Ibanda district are hospitalized after consuming meat suspected to be contaminated with anthrax. The five patients admitted to Ibanda Hospital are residents of Rugaaga I&IV in Rugaaga, and Rwensambya village in Keihangara sub-counties. Anthrax is a non-contagious zoonotic disease caused by the spore-forming bacterium Bacillus anthracis. It is common in wild and domestic animals such as cattle, sheep, goats, camels, and antelopes. In humans, anthrax may occur after contact with contaminated carcasses or animal products like milk and meat. The Minister of State for Economic Monitoring, Beatrice Akello, has instructed the State House Anti-Corruption Unit to investigate the circumstances around the allocation of four acres of land in Arua City to a private developer. The developer intends to construct a stadium and shops through a supposed public-private partnership. Kagadi, Uganda – The territorial police in Albertine and Kagadi have arrested 7 members of a criminal gang that has been terrorizing residents in Kagadi district over the past two months. The gang is accused of carrying out a series of armed robberies and attacks across the district.
