Preparations for the swearing-in ceremony of President-elect William Ruto and his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua has commenced. The swearing-in will take place at the Kasarani Stadium on September 13th. A Criminal Appeals session has kicked off at Fort Portal High Court. A panel of three Court of Appeal Justices led by the Deputy Chief Justice Richard Buteera, Lady Justice Irene Mulyagonja, and Lady justice Eve K. Luswata will adjudicate 42 criminal appeals during the three-day session. Nineteen appeals stem 19 cases of aggravated defilement, 14 murder, seven aggravated robbery and two for rape. The criminal investigations directorate (CID) has launched a manhunt for socialite Charles Olim aka Sipapa for allegedly robbing $429,000 (about Shs 1.64 billion) from South Sudanese national Jacob Arok.
