The police in Soroti have arrested five members of a criminal gang suspected of terrorizing residents in the area. Those arrested are Vincent Opolon, 68, Ronald Kato, 45, Isaac Opolon, 22, Peter Eyamu, 44, and Justine Opali. The group was arrested following the robbery of 68 million shillings from a businesswoman, Stella Apolot on October 11, 2022. Uganda’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, H.E Kibedi Zaake has rubbished reports that the UAE has banned Uganda from accessing the country. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has commissioned a tile factory valued at Ugx180b in Njeru municipality, Buikwe district. The factory is listed as the biggest in Africa, currently producing 49,000 square meters of tiles per day with a planned production to triple to 150,000 square meters per day once it’s fully operational.
