Available reports indicate that M23 rebels are moving towards the Uganda border from Ishasha in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is said that the only supply route between Uganda and the DRC city of Goma that has not been captured is the border. According to Congolese nationals fleeing fighting in the DRC, the M23 rebels have taken Nyamilima Township and four other villages, which are just 19 kilometers from the border with Ishasha.
