Kampala, Uganda: Uganda’s National Social Security Fund Relations Manager Joseph Sooka has been convicted of embezzling 152.7 million Shillings from the Fund Suspense Account. Sooka who has been in charge of the Suspense Account which the Auditor General has severally queried for accumulating unallocated funds is also convicted on counts of money laundering, four counts of forgery and three counts of uttering false documents. Apac, Uganda: Reports indicate that a 17-year-old girl who died after she was seriously beaten by agroup locals on allegations of stealing bananas in Apac Town was found alive in a morgue, hours before her body would be subjected to an autopsy. Kampala, Uganda: The High Court in Kampala has issued an interim order temporarily blocking the Uganda Journalists Association (UJA) from conducting their elections that were scheduled to take place on February 25. The order was issued by the Head of High Court Civil Division, Musa Ssekaana on Friday morning. A Mozambican pastor, Francisco Barajah, has died after fasting for 40 days, in an attempt to copy Jesus Christ who is recorded in the Bible to have fasted for 40 days. Barajah was the founder of the Santa Trindade Evangelical Church in the central province of Manica.
