The Uganda Human Rights Commission is concerned about the increase in hate speech and deplorable conditions in detention facilities across the country. The commission launched and presented its 26th State of Human Rights Report for 2023 to the Speaker of Parliament, appealing to the arms and institutions of government to give attention to the issues raised. The deceased was identified as Namaganda Olivia a resident of Nakigalala cell. The victim’s names are withheld since he is still a minor. On 23 May 2024, Police received information about suspected sucide and attempted murder, a team of Police officers were dispatched to the scene. Dark times sorround one Isiko Ibrahim as High Court of Uganda in Mbale has sentenced  him to life in prison for the murder of a five-year-old boy in a ritualistic sacrifice. The Crimes Division of the High Court has further denied bail to Molly Katanga, the widow of the late city businessman Henry Katanga. Molly Katanga is accused of killing her husband, Henry Katanga. The businessman was allegedly shot dead by his wife on November 2, 2023, at their home in Mbuya, Nakawa Division, Kampala City.
