A mini-survey to establish the number of nomadic pastoralists in Acholi followed Executive Order Number 3 of 2023 has so far registered 217 non-compliant pastoralists in Acholi Sub-region. The figure was revealed by Brig. Unfortunately, last Friday at 4:00am, Kamwine and her counterparts could not match the surveillance operations. Fire has gutted the offices of International Police-Interpol at the Uganda-Kenya border in Lwakhakha Town Council in Namisindwa district. The fire broke out Tuesday afternoon reducing all crucial documents and files to ashes. Bonny Wekesa, an eyewitness, says that residents rushed with jerry cans filled with water to extinguish the flames that had already destroyed all the files. The main opposition leader in Seychelles, Patrick Herminie, has been charged with witchcraft, along with seven others. Police say the case is related to the discovery of two bodies exhumed from a cemetery on the island of Mahé. Labor exporters are illegally withholding more than 8,000 passports, the Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration Control (DCIC) has revealed. Simon Peter Mundeyi, the Internal Affairs Ministry Spokesperson, says that they have been receiving complaints from mostly women whose passports have been confiscated by labour export firms. The Territorial Police in Aswa region has registered a case of infanticide in Omoro district where a distressed mother allegedly threw her 3 day old baby into a pit latrine, resulting in the infant’s death.
