A 43-year-old man who allegedly burnt his 12-year-old daughter’s fingers after asking him to pay her school fees has been arrested by Police in Namayingo. The suspect is Henry Sida, a resident of Dohwe village in Buhemba Sub-county. Only identifies as Nabwire, the young dropped out of school while in Primary Four when her father refused to pay her school fees. Mr Frank Gashumba, a member of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), has been summoned to a disciplinary hearing at the PLU Secretariat following his contentious social media post targeting the Chairman of the PLU and Chief of Defence Forces, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba. Police in the North Kyoga Region have launched inquiries into a single-vehicle accident that claimed the life of Lira City clerk.
