In Luwero town, the police are currently engaged in a rigorous manhunt for Godwin Kwemoi, the security guard accused of the tragic shooting that claimed the life of his colleague, Anthony Jarindya, on a fateful Saturday night.
According to Ugstandard, the incident unfolded at Najjembe Developers Micro Finance Limited, located in Binyonyi zone, where both security personnel were assigned under the banner of Ryayo Security Group.
The unfortunate event transpired around 11:20 pm, following an apparent dispute between Kwemoi and Jarindya.
In a sudden escalation of tension, Kwemoi resorted to violence, fatally shooting Jarindya before making a hasty escape from the scene.
Law enforcement swiftly responded to the distress call, discovering that the assailant had fled, leaving behind the firearm in their rented room.
Savannah Regional Police Spokesperson Sam Twineamazima provided additional insights, confirming that the deceased’s weapon was recovered and statements were obtained from witnesses present at the scene.
The body of Anthony Jarindya was transferred to the Mulago Hospital mortuary for postmortem examinations, while the relentless pursuit of Godwin Kwemoi continues.
This tragic incident comes against the backdrop of heightened security concerns in Luwero, echoing previous incidents in the region.
