Ever since he was appointed, DP members have been angry and unhappy with him. They have been accusing Mao of selling off their political party to the ruling party NRM and its president Yoweri Museveni.
When one becomes a minister they are given some opportunities. This also means they obviously lose some freedom because they are now big people.
According to Nobert Mao, he used to connect with his people on the ground often. However, at the moment he doesn’t do that like he used to do.
He said that he has so much work to do because of his position but some people are not understanding it, especially those he leads in DP.
“When I became a minister, I lost some of my freedom. I haven’t been connecting with my people on ground because of the work I do. I am so busy and unfortunately, people don’t understand it,” he said.
It should be noted that Nobert Mao refused to resign as the president of the Democratic Party. He said working with the government is the way to go.
