LiIRA: SP Jimmy Patrick Okema the police public relations Officer(PRO) North Kyoga Region has issued a statement concerning the death of an identified person suspected to have been murdered,tied in a sack and dumped along the road in Lira-City West Division.
SP Okema stated that the territorial police command at Lira-City West Division are closely investigating suspected murder of unidentified person whose body was discovered dumped at around Jinja Camp ‘B’ cell in Lira-City West Division, Lira City.
This follows a report registered at the police by one, Odaga Vincent aged 45-years-old. Odaga is the area LC1 Jinja Camp ‘B’ Cell, Lira City West Division,Lira City.
It is alleged that on the 6th, November 2023, at around 07:23 hours, the community members of Jinja Camp ‘B’ in Lira City West Division found a body of a dead person whose identity has not yet been made clear,tied in a sack and dumped along the road at Jinja Camp.
The Chairman LC1 of the place was notified and rushed to police where a case of murder of unidentified person has been registered under CRB 990/2023.
A team of police officers led by the DPC Lira-City West Police SP Omony, Scene of crime Officer (SOCO), and homicide team proceeded to the scene, picked and conveyed the body to Lira Regional Referral Hospital’s Mortuary pending postmortem.
According to the statement of Okema,this is yet another very unfortunate incident.
He appealed to anyone who have any information that can support investigation to kindly share it with the police for successful investigation and prosecution for justice to prevails.
