LIRA: The MP for Lira City West Division Honourable Obong Eyit Vincent Shedrick has described the late Mayor Ogwal Ahonga as a good UPC mobiliser who left a good legacy which will take time to fade from hundreds of people in Lango sub-region.
Obong Vincent Eyit was talking to the media after attending a burial of Mayor Ogwal Aconga(RIP) on Friday at Aler,Ngetta in Lira City.
MP Obong Eyit described Ogwal Aconga as a true’ political bull dozer’and dedicated leader who was commonly known in the local language as ”Ocoromac” in the political arena of UPC renowned party Mobilisation.
He noted that Ogwal Aconga was a national incolosious good UPC supporter who made a lot of development in the Catholic church espicially in St.Jude located in Ojwina, Lira City West Division.
He was a wedded christian whose life style has made a lot of impacts among the then upcoming young Christians of Lira City and the greater Lira district,in Lango sub-region.
MP Shedrick Obong Eyit said “we have lost courageous,multi-talented, brilliant and a sportsman ,a person who knows God at all times of his leadership.
Obong Eyit while mourning Michael Ogwal Achonga described him as a national incolosious and really a hard-working UPC cardre.
Honourable Obong Vincent said,”it is with great sadness that we lost our elder,hero,long serving UPC member who was truly a good moblizer of the people’s Congress party.
l pray that the almighty God gives his wife and children comfort in this most trying time of grief.
Honourable Vincent Shedrick said “he remember way back at at St.Jude Catholic chapel that mayor Michael was a man who likes Catholic denomination so much even up to the time of his death”.
Mike Ogwal was the first elected mayor at Lira City West Division.He died of cancer after a long illness.
According to the Uganda people’s Congress (UPC)party president, Jimmy Michael Akena, he testified that”l had a fundraising in Busia,l moved with Mike Ogwal Aconga, that is the Mike l know ,that is the Mike we did politic together”Said Hon MP/UPC party president Akena Jimmy Michael.
Leaders across Northern Uganda joined the rest of the mourners in Lango sub-region at Ayer in Ngetta ,in a descent send off of the departed leader.
President Museveni on Friday gave ten(10)million shillings Via the Minister of health Hon Dr Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero to the family of the deseased.
