LIRA: President Yoweri Museveni Kaguta has given ten (10) Million Shillings to the family of the late Lira City West Division Mayor Ogwal Achonga(RIP).
President of the Republic of Uganda General Yoweri Museveni Kaguta has given a condolence contribution of ten,(10) million shillings to the bereaved family of of the late mayor Ogwal Achonga via the Minister of health Dr Jane Ruth Aceng.
It was delivered through the health minister Dr Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero who doubles as the Lira City women MP.

Minister Aceng before thousands of mourners who were gathered in the send off of the Division Mayor Ogwal.
Aceng who applauded and commended President Yoweri Museveni for his support to the family of the late mayor urged voters to vote for leaders who stand with them always.
While delivering his message to the mourners, Minister Aceng said President Museveni has urged the widow of Micheal Ogwal Achonga to unite all the family members of the late Mayor Ogwal Achonga.
Meanwhile In his message to the mourners ,UPC party president Hon Akena Jimmy Michael who doubles as the Member of Parliament for Lira City East Division,confirmed before the mourners that the recent by-election of Oyam North county was successful because of the strategies laid by the late Mayor Lira City West Division Michael Ogwal Achonga(RIP).
He said Achonga was a couragious leader who made UPC party to gain ground in most parts of Lango sub-region as a whole.
MP Obong Vincent Shedrick of Lira City West Division Commended the late Ogwal A honga as a political bull dozer.
He added that when he joined politic it was Achonga who inspired him and assisted him in most of his political directions.
However most of the thousands of mourners who turned up for the burial appreciated president Museveni for offering ten million to the bereaved family.
Minister for Local Government hon Raphael Magenyi ,in his condolence message, said he remembers Ogwal Achonga as a leader who worked very hard in the tarmacked Lira Bus park among some of his genuing contributions that he( Ogwal) made when he was still alive as a leader.
Bank of Uganda through RCC Lira City Mr Lawrence Emmy Egole, also gave millions of shillings to the family of the late mayor Ogwal Achonga.
It was given by Micheal Ego the deputy governor Bank of Uganda on Friday from Lira City during a closure of a town Hall meeting held for two days at Margarita Palace Hotel in Lira City.
Micheal Ogwal Achonga was laid to rest at his ancestral home in Ngetta , Lira City East Division,in Lira City on Friday 20th,2023.
