OBONGI: The Resident District Commissioner (RDC)Obongi Mr Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka has commissioned a new general ward at Idiwa health centre lll in Itula sub-county Obongi district on Friday.
The general ward has been constructed at about 411 million shillings by the United Nations High Commission for Refugees in Obongi district.
The general ward has three (3)general wards designed specifically for men,women and children respectively.
Others are, the treatment room ,sluice room,duty room,washing and changing rooms.Put in place is a solar system with 16 solar panels150 watts each with six batteries each 200 amps.
It also has a standard hybrid invertor,motorised water pump,hot water solar system and and two water tanks.
The UNHCR head of field office for Obongi and Moyo district Mohamed Shekimweri handed over the health facility on behalf of UNHCR and commended Obongi district leadership for the cooperation that made their work so easy till completion.
A woman called Sharon Adriria- 32-year -old ,of Adiwa village,Idiwa sub-county really appreciated the UNHCR for constructing the new general ward saying it will boost the standard of health service delivery in the sub-county.and Obongi as a whole.
However,one of the LC member who preferred anonymity because he fear talking to the media, told this publication that the development will help most pregnant mothers and also the children to sleep in a better health center in case they are admitted in the facility.
RDC Hasaka Samuel Mpimbasa called upon all the NGOs in the region working in the district to follow the example and a good good foot mark of UNHCR so that the value for money is realised incase of any partnership of any project in future.
