ACHOLI: Amuru Business came to a stand still for close to two hours on Gulu- Pabbo-Atiak-Nimule road as a fuel tank number SSD 912P Masha Allah, overturns in Amuru.
The accident occurred at Palukere parish, Atiak Sub county ,Amuru district on Monday morning involving Obongi RDC Samuel Mpimbasa.
The accident occurred 57 kilometres away from Gulu city . According to an eye witness who spoke on condition of anonymity,the fuel tank had only one person-the driver who is a Somalia national escaped unhurt from the vehicle.
Meanwhile,the number of accidents occurring consecutively due to potholes on Gulu-Pabbo-Atiak-Nimule road is on the rise due to the increasing number of potholes on the road. By press time ,diesel continue to pour out from the two chambers of the fuel tanks vehicle that had overturned.
The Obongi Resident District Commissioner ( RDC) Hasaka Samuel Mpimbasa,who was trying to overtake the vehicle, narrowly escaped unhurt as his vehicle almost overturned closely to the fuel tank.
Talking to our reporter on Monday morning at around 10:20 AM ,Hasaka said he almost ramp into the fuel tank at Palukere but it was only by God’s Grace that he survives the nasty accident.
Several drivers spent close to two hours as the number of the locals and pedestrians kept on increasing to the scene to witness the incident.
