EDUCATION: Former students of the Islamic university in Uganda under their umbrella of the IUIU Alumni Association have launched an investment club.
The club launch was led by the chief guest he’s excellency president Yoweri Museveni represented by Hon. Hajjat Minsa Kabanda, Cabinet Minister of Kampala Capital City Authority, during the annual alumni dinner which was held at females’ campus Kabojja under the theme ‘’investment through social synergies’’.
The chairman Alumni association Mr. Abdunur Sekindi highlighted that the association established and launched a scholarship fund intended to help needy but deserving students to pursue their education at IUIU.
‘’So far, we are sponsoring two students, one male student who is pursuing a bachelors in public administration and one female student pursuing a degree in nursing, we are intending to add on more as we get more funds.’’ He added.
In he’s presentation, the rector Islamic university in Uganda Prof Ismail Ssimbwa Gyagenda, congratulated the current alumni leadership for the great efforts to mobilize and galvanize the alumni into a united pillar supporting their alma mater.
‘’I promise that IUIU values all our alumni and we shall do all in our power to work with you.’’
Prof Ismail also encouraged the alumni to continue building the association and put in place mechanisms for a formidable and strong organization to work with IUIU to advance together the interests of the university and the association.
