Directors of Spring of Wisdom Primary School Arrested for Alleged Murder of Teacher and Child.
Police in Kiboga district have detained two directors of Spring of Wisdom Primary School on suspicion of murdering two individuals. The suspects, Bruno Ddamulira and Gladys Nakalyango, both serve as directors at the school. The victims have been identified as Noeline Nabwenjje, a 26-year-old teacher at Spring of Wisdom Primary School, and her one-year-old son, Johan Gayel.
Reports from Uganda Radio Network-URN indicate that unidentified assailants attacked Nabwenjje’s rented room on the night of June 30th in Kyanja cell, Kiboga town council. They brutally assaulted her, fatally slashing her throat. They then turned on her one-year-old son, inflicting severe injuries to his head and face, resulting in his immediate death. The attackers subsequently locked the victims inside their residence before fleeing the scene.
Constanine Ndawula, the LC1 Chairperson of Kyanja, revealed that suspicion arose when Nabwenjje and her child did not emerge the following morning. Concerned residents, with Ndawula’s assistance, forcibly entered the residence and discovered the lifeless bodies lying in a pool of blood.
Local authorities promptly notified the police, who swiftly responded to the crime scene and launched an investigation into the heinous crime.
Racheal Kawala, the Wamala region police spokesperson, confirmed the arrest of Bruno Ddamulira and Gladys Nakalyango on Monday. She stated that they are assisting the police with their inquiries. The bodies of the victims were transported to Kiboga General Hospital for a postmortem examination, which revealed that the deceased succumbed to fatal bleeding caused by the attackers’ injuries.
Kawala added that the police are actively pursuing other suspects believed to be involved in the murders. She urged the public to cooperate by providing any pertinent information that could aid in apprehending additional suspects.
