Bishop Jacinto Kibuuka, the Chairperson of the Christian Ecumenical Council of Uganda (CECU) has lashed out at religious leaders who still give money for the Christians and walk scot-free.

Bishop Kibuuka says that there are many religious leaders who steal church money and use it to marry women, teach their children abroad and also make foreign visits.
“Religious leaders are also thieves because they are part of the society, they tend to blame other leaders who are publicly accused of stealing government money yet they are also thieves” said Kibuuka.
The leader of the Evangelical Orthodox Church in Uganda further highlighted circular challenges that are still hitting the Christians who have known God. He says that such challenges are greed, embezzlement of public funds, land theft, abortion, moral decadence and impunity among others.
He says that such challenges threaten African Christian. “A lot of voices imposed on African Christians threaten the culture of Christianity and these include abortion, prostitution, moral decadence, impunity and land theft among others.
The Mamre International Prayer Center leader, Bishop Kibuuka however called on the congregants to stay focused on their God by paying a deaf ear to people who abuse them for their faith. “Remain focused on truth, remain focused on faith and be hopeful that we shall overcome all challenges in this world.”
In the same vein, Kibuuka blamed religious leaders and Christians who practice witchcraft and sectarianism which is contrary to Christ’s teaching. “There is evil witchcraft among Christians and religious leaders.”

Gerald Nangoli, the MP Elgon North Bulambuli district called on the Christians to have devotions in order to leave legacy in the country just like the Uganda Martyrs did. “It is by devotion that we shall leave a legacy in this country”.
