Kaberamaido court clerk and Bulululu Sub county GISO have been arrested in connection to the theft of Kaberamaido Chief Magistrate’s computer.
According to David Otabong, the Kaberamaido District Police Commander, the incident happened on Tuesday, 21st, May 2024 when a secretary in the registry office reported to a police officer who had been deployed for day duty that a computer was missing.
“We rushed to the scene but it was difficult to trace anything because it was constructive theft, the door was just opened. We had to introduce a canine dog,” he said.
He says that the police officers who guarded the place at night left by 6:00am when everything was intact.
Police then using the aide of a canine dog from Dokolo was able to arrest the court clerk, Emmanuel Osege, a resident of Olelai village in Aperikira Sub County together with GISO Bulululu Sub County, Simon Edwoku with whom he was found with in his office.
Edwoku is a resident of Olomet village in Bulululu Sub county Kalaki district. Otabong stressed that the canine dog upon arriving at the scene went direct to the court clerk’s office.
The case is registered under CRB 164/2024.
It’s the third of its kind. The first robbery involved breaking into the court stores and stealing court exhibit and the court clerk Alex Eluke was arrested in connection to that.
He is apparently interdicted and on court bail. The second was a computer that went missing up to date and this incident being latest.
