As Mpuuga, Bobi Wine rift rages on, Senior Presidential aide Gen Proscovia Nalweyiso has said, NUP might have wanted to share part of the Ugx 500 million service award given to former Leader of the Opposition in Parliament Mathias Mpuuga, a reason for the intensified attacks on the Nyendo Mukungwe MP.
Gen Nalweyiso revealed this on a TikTok deliberation with TikToker First King as the two deliberated on a number of issues.
“I think, Kyagulanyi and the team wanted the money to be sent to the party and he (Hon Mpuuga) did not give it to them since the Service Award is tagged along ones name (who involved in the service),” Nalweyiso said.
She added; “This money seems to also have a percentage for which gundi (Mpuuga) objected to.”
Gen Nalweyiso also commented on the taxes that President Museveni waived from Kyagulanyi’s bullet proof land cruiser which had been confiscated by the Uganda Revenue Authority.
She however refused to divulge details on ground that upon the deliberations of the details, the stubborn Kyagulanyi might want to return the vehicle for fear of getting ashamed.
The deliberations on the Ugx 500 million service award offered to Hon Mpuuga by the Parliamentary Commission for the service he offered while leader of Opposition has left many Ugandan perplexed on the occurances especially in the opposition National Unity Platform.
The party has so far blindly moved to recall Mpuuga from the Parliamentary Commission, a move the Speaker of Parliament Anita Among rejected.
This week, Kyagulanyi also suspended Mpuuga from the Position of Party Deputy President. Mpuuga responded by sympathizing with Kyagulanyi, saying he is under family rule and siege.
