According to the Wilfred Ogwang, Nakasongola prison inmates sit there PLE exams at their school and also it’s their responsibility to extend extra lessons to them in the prison to enable them to excel in the exam.
Ogwang told daily Monitor, all the 8 inmates who sat for the 2023 PLE exams at their school passed but Nyombi is the only one who secured first grade.
He added that the prisoners are not often taught but the school administration tries their best and delivers to them different sets of papers to enable them practice.
He revealed that, after the inmates have done the papers, they normally Mark them and extend to extra lessons on weekends.
The school authorities are now requesting the government to add more teachers such that they will be extending teaching lessons to the prisoners.
