Hajjat Karadi Rallies NRM Flag Bearers Ahead of Kawempe LCI Elections

KAMPALA, Uganda: Hajjat Hanifah Karadi, Commander of the Nkuyege Think Tank and Publicity Secretary for NRM Mainstream in Kawempe North A, on Tuesday met with NRM flag bearers contesting for LC I positions, including women candidates, to strategize on securing victory across the division.

Speaking during the meeting, Karadi said the party has set an ambitious target of winning at least 90% of LC I seats in Kawempe. She cited the party’s performance in the recent councillorship elections, where NRM won 92% of seats in Kawempe Division, as proof that a similar result is achievable.

“We can do it again if we mobilize well and vote early before residents go to work,” Karadi told the flag bearers. She urged leaders to maintain peace by reconciling with neighbors, stressing that “Local Council I is the backbone of the country’s peace and security, and where there is security, socio-economic development is guaranteed.”

The flag bearers commended Karadi for her consistent grassroots presence since the by-elections. “You have never left the ground, even when you were not treated well by your own party,” one chairperson said. “They underestimated your pro-people and patriotic mobilization. You are actually the MP we have now, because the elected MP has never returned since being elected.”

NRM leaders said village mobilization will intensify ahead of polling day.
