Kalangala: The Electoral Commission has declared National Resistance Movement candidate Nabayiga Idah the duly elected District Woman Member of Parliament for Kalangala District.
Returning Officer Ronald Agaba made the declaration after polling, counting and tallying were completed in line with Uganda’s electoral laws.
The EC said the process followed established legal procedures. In a post-election statement, it congratulated Nabayiga and thanked voters, candidates, parties, officials, security agencies, observers and media for peaceful participation.
Nabayiga’s win strengthens NRM representation in Parliament and adds to Kalangala’s political leadership. The EC reiterated its call for adherence to electoral procedures to ensure free, fair and credible polls nationwide.
