Katikara S/County, Kakumiro: Bugangaizi East Legislator Hon. Aisa made time and visited Rodgers Omuhereza Twinomuhangyi a.k.a Rogers – an empowered farmer in Katikara LCI.
Rogers has 4.5ecres of high variety maize grains, two acres of high variety coffee, piggery project, mangoes, chicken and others.

“I thank you for embracing government programs, you’ve just told me that it gave you mangoes and planted them, this has showed me that when the gov’t gives out some crops, you surely put them to use.” Said Hon. Aisa.
“It’s against that background that I ask others out their to embrace the same because you’ll reap at the end of the day. Rogers has told me that the mango breed he received from gov’t is more sweet than the indeginous ones in his garden.” She added.
She was amazed when Rogers told her that he’s slowly transiting from maize and grow more of coffee and banana since the price of maize is like a dollar, it keeps on fluctuating therefore has no standard price compared to other crops.
“I don’t mean that you shouldn’t completely plant but what other crops have you grown to see that you have some good income to pay school fees and develop yourself. To you who have over some good land, why don’t you plan to also grow coffee, cocoa, rear pigs, chicken goats and others.” She appealed to residents.
“I asked the people especially Katikara people, reached out to Rugyirehi, Roger and Akileo – C/Man LCI Katikara, these have coffee plantations and other crops on large farms, ask them how they do it and also implement it on your farms.” She added.
She heaped praises to the people of Bugangaizi East for endeavoring to put grow some crops. “Wherever I have passed in my constituency, people have grown bananas, maize, beans cassava, they have reared pigs, goats, chicken and others”.
Speaking to Journalists after touring Mp Aisa around his gardens, Omuhereza Roger lauded Hon. Aisa for being so encouraging to the farmers and for following government programs. He said, was thrilled by what she has been able to do so far for Bugangaizi East that include harnessing land titles for the people as some have started getting, Natinal water which is on going in Katikara and other Sub Counties.
He confessed that even though he did not support her, the tangible development she has put up has compelled him see great future for Bugangaizi East and committed continued support for all her intiative. He added that the seeds he secured from the government have made wonders for him as he has reaped big.
He called on all the people of Bugangaizi that regardless of how they may love other people but the leader they need is that that brings tangible development to the area like Aisa Agaba Black.
“She has hyped my work here and encouraged me to teach others to do the same which i will surely do.” He admitted.
